

Belle Adams (Carew) Lundstedt, 92, of Newburyport, formerly of Marblehead, passed away on August 9, 2015. She was the wife of the late Elvin V. Lundstedt. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Winnifred (Peirce) Carew.
From 1940-1947, she was a keypunch operator & file clerk at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. She really enjoyed the experience of taking public transportation to and from work and walking down the streets of Boston.
After raising her kids, for many years, she wanted to get out of the house and work again. So, from 1981 to 1986 (58 to 63 years old), she worked at Carter Business Service as a file clerk, in Boston for 1 year, then in Wakefield for 4 years.
Belle belonged to the Marblehead Women’s Club for 20 years. (1974 to 1994) She was a den mother for about a dozen kids and was also the neighborhood mom, always welcoming kids in for snacks. She was also an active member of St. Stevens United Methodist Church in Marblehead for years where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Lundstedt is survived by 3 children, John A. Lundstedt and his wife Kristin of NH, Alan Lundstedt and his wife Lisbeth of OH, and Janet Lundstedt of Rowley; and 5 grandchildren, Emily, Connor, Stacy, and John Lundstedt, and Corinna Gold. She was
the sister of the late Truman and Helen (Hicks) Carew, Nils and Grace (Carew) Sjoberg, Lyndon and Myrtle (Woodworth) Carew, George and Elva (Carew) O’Conner, Robert and Beatrice (Carew) Kennedy, and Ernest and Joyce (Andrews) Carew Jr.
A funeral service will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Monday, August 17 at 11AM. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
