

Donald Herrick Loveland passed peacefully on Friday, July 10th, 2015 at his home with his family and under the care of Hospice Care Dimensions. Donald was born on September 24, 1938 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
After spending many summers here in Marblehead, his family moved and became permanent residents. He graduated from Marblehead High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from Boston University School of Aeronautical Engineering.
He worked on several classified government projects for different branches of the military. He spent seventeen plus years working for Harvard University Behavioral Science department as lab manager in the William James Hall. He went on to start his own business, Don Loveland Company, Inc., which provided safety and noise enclosures for production and packaging equipment for all the major manufactures in the greater New England area.
Donald is survived by his wife Ann MacDonald Loveland of 55 years, his brother Peter B. Loveland and his sister-in-law Kathy, his brother-in-laws Jack and Creighton Mac Donald, his sons Donald E. and Russell, daughter-in-law Meg, daughter Julie Loveland and grandchildren Kirstin, Noah and Lily. One of his greatest joys was the Naval Air Service of his pre-deceased son Kevin.
Private services were held burial side on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Waterside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Care Dimensions, www.caredimensions.org. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
