Everett E. Carlton Jr.

He was the husband of the late Loretta J. (Hojnowski). They shared 57 years of marriage and had three children; David E. and his wife Kathleen M. (O’Brien) of Peabody, Richard G., (Deceased), and Elizabeth Jane and her husband John G. McCarthy of Salisbury/Saugus, and Debra (DiChirico). In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband Randall Miller of Wilmington, Jennifer and her husband Robert Crowley of Merrimack NH, Alison and John Charles McCarthy of Salisbury/Saugus, Christopher and Kim Carlton of Topsham Maine, Stephen and Caisee Carlton of Fitchburg and Angela Carlton of Quincy.

Also ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, the sons and daughters of his brother Ralph W. and Kipp Carlton of Marblehead and his sister Barbara R. and her husband Stanley E. Waitt of Hempstead NH. He was predeceased by his brother George A. Carlton. He also leaves his devoted friend Joan Kimmal and all his other friends at Brooksby Village.

Mr. Carlton was a native born Marbleheader, graduating from Marblehead High in 1942, He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and saw service in the South Pacific. After his discharge he worked for the Postal Service before beginning his career in Banking, retiring as Vice President at Eastern Bank in 1988. He was especially proud of his service on the Marblehead Finance Committee.

Memorial Visiting Hours at Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St., Marblehead from 4-8 pm on Tuesday March 8, and a Memorial Mass will be delivered at the Ecumenical Chapel in Brooksby Village, Peabody on Wednesday at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Salvation Army, 233 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906 or to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923.
