

Grace Anna Mathews, 63, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on June 8, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She is reunited with her beloved parent’s Paul and Ruth (O’Malley) Mathews.
Raised in Springfield, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Grace continued her education to become an X-Ray Technician. She worked at North Shore Children’s Hospital in Salem for many years. Grace was also an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead where she taught CCD classes. She was a kind and loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, with a great sense of humor and wit. Grace enjoyed so much about life, especially antiquing, vacationing with her family in Chatham and Maine, but mostly spending time with her six grandchildren whom she loved so much.
She is survived by two daughters, Marci Gallup and her husband Christopher, and Gina Rushton and her husband Derek all of Marblehead; her former husband, Ronald Liberatori; five brothers, P.J., Johnny, David, Tommy, and Jimmy Mathews; five sisters, Ellie Gilrein, Sally O’Neill, Veronica Mathews, Sharon Victor, and Sheila Elmer; six grandchildren, Jake, Lucy, Cole, Kyle, Finn, and Riley; and 26 nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Pat Bachelder of Salem.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Friday, June 11 at 10AM. Burial to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Thursday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
