Harold D. Roberts

Harold D. Roberts, 85, of Swampscott, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, August 15, 2011. He was the husband of Evelyn (Nordahl) Roberts with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Ralph and Perle (Schwartz) Roberts.

Born October 31, 1925 in Batavia, NY, he later lived in Rochester, NY, Longmeadow, Greenfield, and Sandwich, MA. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy. Harold graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and had a long career in department store merchandising and management. After retiring to Sandwich, Harold was active in the Cape Cod Regional Chamber of Commerce, and The Sandwich Council on Aging.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his cherished family: three sons, James and his wife Vera of New Britain, CT, Tom of Tacoma, WA, and Paul and his wife Mary of Marblehead; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew of Tacoma, and Lily and Cordelia of Marblehead.
