

He was born May 6, 1924, in The Netherlands. On February 17, 1954, he married Mary Van Erp in their hometown of Heesch, The Netherlands.
He immigrated with his wife to the United States in 1954. He was a hydraulic engineer and in his spare time enjoyed metal sculpturing, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Florence Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided Albert and the family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; his daughters, Joan (Terry) Ward of Cincinnati, Ohio, Anita (Patrick) Turner of Union, and Debbie (Ed Hall) Kates of Marengo; his grandchildren, Stuart (Jill) Turner, Vanessa (Tim) McCalla, and Ginny Turner; two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Alyssa; his siblings, Antoon, Wilhelm, John, Jeff, Lies Van De Ven, and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Martin, Andre, Piet, and Harrie; and his infant daughter, Debbie (born in 1958).
Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm on Sunday, June 12, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, June 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
