Donna graduated from Larkin High School and received her Associate's from Gateway Technical Institute. Donna was an expert horse trainer and made a career as a horseshoer, with clients in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Even as her health started to fail her, she continued to shoe for her clients which brought her great joy. Donna bred and showed horses for years as well. She achieved the title of World Champion in multiple disciplines and multiple breeds, with an emphasis on Pintos. One of Donna's best traits was her ability to teach and share her knowledge. She did this in many ways, including being a leader and superintendent in 4-H, and taking an active role in the Kane County Horse Bowl.
Beyond her passion for horses, Donna was an amazing artist. She worked with multiple mediums including oil paints, ceramics, textiles, and metals, among others. The beauty she brought to this world will be greatly missed.
Donna had a great sense of humor. She took great joy in traveling and riding her Harley. She had a kind and giving heart and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
She is survived by her brothers, Greg (Oonagh) Meyer and Rodney (Jialin) Meyer; her nephew, Robert Meyer and her niece, Deanna Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
