

She was born January 14, 1924, in Evanston to Julius and Martha (Poppel) Heidtke. On February 25, 1943, she married Richard Hoffmeyer in Ventura, California.
She was a business owner in Des Plaines since 1969, owning two Baskin Robbins stores.
She relocated to Marengo in 1994 but enjoyed being a “Snowbird” in Sarasota, FL, for many years. Previous generations of her family had resided in Marengo in its early years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Union and loved sewing.
She is survived by her children, JoAnne (Monte) Pease, Richard (Barb) Hoffmeyer, Judith (Glenn) Harper, Martha Hoffmeyer, Charles Hoffmeyer, and Elizabeth (Greg Dinklenburg) Battista; her grandchildren, Douglas, Teri, Rick, Travis, Katie, Annie, Devan, Nick, Callen, Desi, and Elle; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; and her eight brothers and sisters.
Family will greet friends from 10am to the Noon memorial service on Monday, April 18, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo.
Inurnment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.
