She was born October 22, 1940 in Chicago to Dominic and Theresa (Antoniello) Dellorto. On August 6, 1959 Elvira married Alfred Rogers in Corinth, Mississippi.
Elvira was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family very much and always put family first. She was proud of her Italian heritage, stayed connected to her Italian roots, and homemade spaghetti was her speciality. She was married for nearly 60 years to Al and they shared a wonderful life together. Their first 30 years were spent in Wauconda, IL the next nearly 30 years were in Watersmeet, MI. She shared a special bond with her twin sister, Ann. She loved her 4 children, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She enjoyed listening to music (especially Elvis Presley and Dean Martin), watching movies, reading, going out to a nice restaurant, playing dominos, and family Christmas celebrations. She truly loved her life and was thankful for it.
Elvira is survived by her children, Duane (Lisa) Rogers, Alan Rogers, Sandra (Gregg) Stade, Todd (Margo) Rogers; her grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel (Ryan), Steven, Brooke (Shane), Kevin, Alicia (Micah), Austin, Aleksander, Kelsey, Jon (Samantha), and Ashley; her great-grandchildren, Halcyon, Everett, Molly, Zion, Gia, and Juliana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Rogers; her parents, Dominic and Theresa Dellorto; her sisters, Mary Cullen and Ann Plutz; and her brothers, Carmen Dellorto, Dominic Dellorto and Vito Dellorto.
There will be a memorial visitation from 9 to 11am on Saturday, August 28 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St, Marengo. A memorial service will follow at 11am.
