Gerald Lee Anderson

Jerry was born July 11, 1950 in Belvidere. He was the youngest of six children born to RF and Blanche (Youngbluth) Anderson.

He grew up in the Union/Marengo area where he attended elementary school, and graduated from Marengo High School in 1968.

Jerry loved children. He worked for many years as the custodian at Locust Elementary School in Marengo and then at Woodstock Hospital as janitor. No matter where he was those floors had to shine, he wanted them spotless.

Jerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing horseshoes and tending to his garden. He especially liked playing golf with his buddy Larry Fowler. Jerry was a member of the Union Lions Club. He was also an avid Bears and White Sox fan.

Jerry enjoyed spending time at family reunions in South Dakota and Illinois and spending holidays with nieces, nephews and other family members.

Jerry married Louise Beeck on June 1, 2019, in Woodstock.

Jerry is survived by his wife of seven years, Louise, and eight nieces, nephews and their spouses: Joyce Vierck of Benton Harbor, MI, Robin (Karl) Kindberg of Caledonia, Randy (Elyse) Anderson of Bradenton, FL, Debbie (Kevin) Hookstadt of Harvard, Lori (David) Kirchhoff of Southaven, MS, Dale (Lyndee) Vierck of Loves Park, Scott (Susan) Vierck of Rockton, and Gene Ray (Jenny) Vierck, Rockton as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Leland "Bud" (Marion) Anderson, Marlys Rudsinski, Emma Jean Anderson, Karen (Albert) Collier, Dorothy (Vincent) Vierck.

A graveside side service will be at 1pm on Saturday, April 18 at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
