He was born April 23, 1935 in Johnson City to Noble and Opal Summers. In 1974 he married Loretta Zielinski Maximchuk. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo in Hampshire and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife Loretta; his daughter, Joanne (Paul) Stawinoga; his grandchildren, Paul Stawinoga, Michele (Kevin) Sullivan, Peter Stawinoga, and Jennifer (John) Beck; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler Beck, Leigh Stawinoga, Josie Stawinoga, Max Stawinoga, Christopher Beck, Molly Stawinoga, Anna Claire Sullivan, and Jamie Lynn Beck.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 2, at St. Charles Borromeo, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Church.
