John Nienhuis

He was born August 22, 1946 in Chicago to Oney and Ella (Prufer) Nienhuis. On December 10, 1967 he married Gloria Rowe in Warren, IL.

John worked for many years selling fertilizer for Crop Production Services in Richmond. He was a member of the Lions Club in Union where he served as secretary. John greatly enjoyed the charity work that he was able to do through the Lions Club. He was also on the Siem’s Park Board. John was a people person and loved his community. He also enjoyed deer hunting and especially golfing.

John is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, John (Sheryl) Nienhuis; and his brother, James (Ana) Nienhuis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Nienhuis.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm on Thursday, March 5 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. There will be a service at 7pm. Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made to the Union Lions Club.
