Lorna Jean Seaburg

She was born October 15, 1922 in Dundee, the daughter of the late Richard and Emma (nee Lang) Jeschke. Lorna grew up in Dundee and attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Dundee High School. She married the late Vernon L. Seaburg on October 25, 1941 at the family farm in Dundee, shortly after they moved to Marengo where Lorna and Vern farmed for many years. Lorna retired from Oaks Manufacturing. The work she most enjoyed was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to bake and always made the best cookies! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Lorna is survived by her two children, Steven (Merri-lynne) Seaburg of Marengo and Jeff (Vicki) Seaburg of Bakersfield, MO; four grandsons, Ryan (Sarah) Seaburg, of LaPorte, IN, Bradley (Dorothy) Seaburg of Huntley, Wade (Tara) Seaburg of Lafayette, IN, Ray (Devon) Seaburg of Puyallup, WA, and one granddaughter, Carrie Seaburg of Belvidere; 15 great-grandchildren, Jay, Grant, Halle, Brady, Peyton, Sofia, Kane, Sam, Charlie, George, Payton, Autumn, and Logan Seaburg, and Alicia and Dominic Alvarado; her sister-in-law, Louise Jeschke; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern, in 2006; two sisters, Annette Schuring and Ruth Applehoff; and two brothers, Wilmer and Edwin Jeschke.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Sunday, November 16 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11am on Monday, November 17 at the church. The service will be at 11am.

Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.
