I didn't know Lyle personally.  Only in passing or exchanging greetings at the 
Union P.O.  or the Marengo Café.  We moved to Marengo from Oakwood Hills in 1991.  I worked in Crystal Lake so I went thru Union daily.  On nice days I would see Lyle and his Mom sitting on their front porch.  When you see someone daily it just feels like you should greet him or her with a wave.  And that's what I did.  As the years passed, I would see him sitting on his picnic table feeding his kitties.  When he wasn't at his house he was riding his bike in town.  Smoking his pipe.  On nice days the wonderful aroma would waft thru my open window.  As our snowy winter turned into spring, I noticed that his bike wasn't out and that there were no kitties on his porch.  We went thru Union tonite on our way to dinner in Crystal Lake and noticed a dumpster in front of his house.  I will miss his wave, the aroma of his tobacco and seeing him sitting with his kitties   I was so sad to learn of his passing.  Our condolences go out to his family and friends. I hope that my wave to him meant as much as his wave back.

My condolences to the Krause Family. Lyle was a great friend throughout the years and he taught me Photography which I enjoy to this day. He will be missed. A Great Man.  I still have many of the photographs he took of me during my career with the Marengo Police Dept. great memories. He will be missed by all.

I've know Lyle all my life, as I grew up in Union, and he was a good friend of my brother, Rob.  He always had big smile and "Hello"  I would catch him on the bike trail once in a while.  One could always catch the aroma of his pipe as he rode the trail! He will be missed and always remembered.

I was on the McHenry County Sheriff Dept. and always appreciated all the accident pictures Lyle would give me at no cost. I still have a box full of them. And Lyle always was so friendly and greeted you. Fond memories.

Prayers to the family. Lyle lived across the street from my parent's house and he was such a nice man. I remember all his cats he loved and his love of photography. Great man.
