Maria "Marianita" Perez

She was born January 6, 1933 in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Ramon and Santos (Gonzalez) Cantu. She married Porfirio Perez in November of 1952.

Marianita loved spending time with her family and preparing her traditional foods for them. She enjoyed playing Loteria (Bingo), trips to the slot machines, going to garage sales, and going out to dinner. She loved her sweets, especially cookies, pound cake, and vanilla ice cream.

Marianita is survived by her children, Porfirio (Norma) Perez Jr., Olga (Bill) Glowaki, Ricardo (Lisa) Perez, Marisela (Ron) Foley; her grandchildren, Christina (Rick), Rachel (Jason), Alyssa, Ryan (Lauren), Olivia (Michael), Joey (Veronica); her great-grandchildren, Lola, Joaquin, Christian, Sophia, Oliver, Violet, Phoenix; her siblings, Elida, Estella, Florinda, Aristeo, and Santos; and was aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Porfirio Perez; her daughter, Rosa (Pablo) Quiroz; and her sister, Celia.

There will be a visitation from 8:30 to 10:30am on Saturday, September 2 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy, Marengo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Marengo.
