Maurice L. "Morry" Thorson

He was born April 20, 1929 in Maple Park, Illinois to Sophie and Thor Thorson. On November 4, 1967 he married Linda Stanger in Woodstock. Morry worked at Woodstock Die Cast for over 40 years and after his retirement he worked as a custodian for many years at the Marengo City Hall.

Morry was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and vacations in St. Germain with his family. He was also a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Fran Moye; his son, Bill (Val) Thorson; his granddaughter, Kim (Jim) Raabe; his great-granddaughter, Stephanie; his sister, Helen Getzelman-Schultz; his brother-in-law, Jim (Terry) Stanger; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters; his mother and father-in-law, Ray and Lucille Stanger; and his special son-in-law, Gene Moye.

Services are private.
