Ruth Wilma Johnson, formerly of Marengo, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Park Place of Belvidere. She was born on April 28, 1928, daughter of William and Louise Ulrich. On July 9, 1949 she married G. George Johnson in Union, IL. Ruth was an avid button collector and belonged to a button collecting club.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Garry, sister Lila Papka, brother Donald Ulrich, step-granddaughter Kimberly Koziak. She is survived by her grandchildren Randy and Kelly Johnson, sisters Jeannette Baumgartner and Marlene Coon.
Visitation will be from 10:30 until the funeral service at 11:00 am on Tues, November 4 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St. Union. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the church. Online condolences visit www.marengo-unionfuneralhome.com.
