Tom was born to Chauncey and Ella Stegen. He pursued higher education at Northwestern University in Evanston, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
He dedicated 35 years to teaching English at Marengo Community High School before retiring. His commitment to education left a lasting impact on his students and colleagues.
Tom was the beloved brother of Barbara Reed and the late James (Sharon) Reed. He was a cherished uncle to Matthew (Billie) Reed and a great uncle to Kay and Eli.
In addition to his career in education, Tom was deeply involved in his community as the organist for the Marengo Presbyterian Church for over 20 years. He was also a talented musician who wrote his own music, including several cantatas for the church.
Thomas Henry Reed will be remembered for his dedication to education, his musical contributions, and his devotion to family and community.
