Wayne E. Hopper

Wayne E. Hopper, 91, formerly of Marengo, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2016 at Maple Crest Care Centre in Belvidere. He was born September 29, 1924 to Milton and Florence (Thompson) Hopper in Woodstock. He married Jeanette Pollnow on September 30, 1945 in Marengo.

He was a truck driver for Marengo Steel for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his son, Keith (Donita) Hopper; son-in-law, Phil Cook; sister, Phylis Feldt; brother, Loren (Darlene) Hopper; grandchildren, Greg (Amy) Cook, Shelley (Mark) Madey, Michael Hopper, Jeremy (Mary) Hopper and Jill Hopper; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, Jason, Rylie, Nolan, Austin and Hailey; nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; daughter, Karen; son Gerald; grandson, Brian; and sister, Harriet Williams.

Visitation 9 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson Street, Marengo; with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
