Due to her father’s job location, when it was time to start school, at age 5, she was sent to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to live with her father's older sister, Ms. Sarah Nader who raised her.
Anne-Marie went to the best religious school in Haiti, “Sisters of St. Rose de Lima’, commonly known as
Mere de Lalue. She was fluent in French, English and creole. While she was in high school, her parents and aunt decided to send her to the US to continue her high school education in Miami.
At age 18 she graduated and later moved to Queens, New York then to different towns in Long Island, NY. Where she met her first husband Serge sr. and had three boys, Serge, Gary, and Billy in 1960, 1962 & 1964.
Anne Marie worked at a Queens, NY Hospital in administration for 13 years. Upon Her Retirement she FINALLY RETURNED to Florida, bought a home in Coconut Creek, before her new Husband Roger Gabriel retired to Florida from the Brooklyn Navy Yard to live with her. They then moved to a larger home in Tamarac where she lived for the past 18 years.
Anne-Marie really captured the devotion of a nun, as anyone who grew close to her could attest to that statement. She loves peaceful environment and beautiful things.
She was very elegant, strict, disciplined, and very particular (as she use to say, "If you want something to be done right, do it yourself"). She loved to listen to soft French music, cooking and entertaining family and her friends.
She is survived by Her Husband Roger, Son’s; Serge, Gary, Billy, 7 Grand Children and 4 Great Grand Children.
She will be dearly missed.
