

Joe was born March 12, 1953 in Lepanto, Arkansas and later moved with his family to Elkhart Indiana where he graduated from Jimtown High School in 1972. In February of 1974 Joe enlisted in the United States Army and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He served as an Army Specialist Four and was assigned as a Combat Engineer with Company Eight, Ninth Engineer Battalion. After more than 2 years of service, Joe moved his wife and two daughters to Florida where he began work at the VA Hospital in Lake City Florida in the maintenance department and later as a patient orderly. It was there Joe was encouraged to enroll in Nursing school. In April of 1980, Joe graduated from Lake City Community College with his A.S.N. and began his 40 yearlong nursing career and now legacy.
Over the years, Joe enjoyed the beach, running and working out, music, fast cars, guns, good food and spending time with his friends. He loved being a caregiver to his longtime significant other Alba and enjoyed being able to spend time with his daughter and his grandchildren. Joe had a passion for nursing that was evident in the way he cared for his patients. He loved his country and was a proud American.
Joe is survived by his two daughters, Jessica Marie Williams and Jami Rane Love (Richard), his brother Michael Williams (Rebecca), his sister Cheryl Cook White (John), his longtime significant other Alba Blanco and her two sons, Ricky Blanco (Lauren) and Danny Blanco. He was also survived by his grandchildren Zachary and Zoey Love, Brianna, Keira, Kaden and Cameron Blanco, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his Father, Wesley Howard Williams, Mother, Marge Thompson, and sisters Teressa Williams Johnson and Rosetta Cook.
A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 33063. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 33063. A committal service will occur Monday, September 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.
