

Lydia Morales, 92, of Margate, Florida, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born January 12, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, Lydia was the daughter of Francisco and Maria (Bauchamp) Serrano. Throughout her life, she was deeply beloved—remembered for a gentle spirit and a kind-hearted way of being that brought comfort to those around her.
Lydia served her community through her work with the Margate Police Department in an administrative role, carrying out her responsibilities with steady dedication and care.
On January 3, 1953, Lydia married Nemesio Morales in Brooklyn, New York. Together they built a family that remained at the center of her life. She is survived by her children: Albert Morales and his wife, Daria; Carmen Morales; Frank Morales and his wife, Sandra; and Ray Morales and his wife, Arlene. She is also survived by her grandchildren: PJ, Rose, Debbie, Frankie, and Stephanie. Lydia was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa. She is further survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and was preceded in death by 1 great-grandchild.
Lydia is survived by her sister, Auria, and her brother, Raymond. She was preceded in death by her brothers Jimmy, Manny and Louie.
In her quieter joys, Lydia found simple pleasures that made ordinary days brighter—especially time spent with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casino, with a particular fondness for slot machines, a pastime she approached with the same calm good humor and warmth that marked so much of her life.
Visitation will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 330634552, on April 23, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens, 3001 N 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024, on April 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
