I knew Mark since we were kids at Sunset Elementary....he was always a good friend and could be counted on to lift the spirits of anyone who knew him.  I had not been fortunate to talk with Mark in recent years but my memory of him will never fade.   Bottom line is the fact that he was one of the "Good Guys" and the world is worse off without him.  May he rest in peace.  My prayers are with his family

My deepest sympathies to Sheri and sons.  Although I have not seen Mark in some years, I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

I knew Mark from hockey, Roller and Ice as our sons competed against each other and we would watch them play. Always the gentleman and ready with a kind word I enjoyed the times we shared at these events.

My brother moved to Florida in the 80s without knowing many people there. On my first visit to him a few months after his move, I met Mark, my brother John's downstairs neighbor. 
After spending some time with them, I knew John would be okay, because he had found a new brother in Mark. Not only would he be a great partner in many adventures having that fun spark in his eye, he would also watch John's back, and would truly be there for him.
Mark, I am so very grateful for your presence in our lives. It is clear that you have enriched the lives of everyone you met over the years. Thank you for being an awesome person.

I had the good fortune of meeting Mark after I graduated from the University of Florida.  I had accepted a job in South Florida and needed a place to live. I got Mark's contact info through a mutual friend who knew Mark was looking for a roomate in the house he had recently purchased on SW 147th avenue.  I didnt know anyone in the Miami area and although I didnt know him previously, he welcomed me, made me feel at home and introduced me to his friends including John and Robert.  He ended up being like a big brother to me.  He enjoyed using me as a wrestling dummy much to the detriment of the walls in the house.  He was a terrific guy and the news of his passing is very difficult to accept.  He will be missed.

Mark was a great guy. A kind and gentle soul. The 1979 Coral Gables Football Team, met once a month for breakfast the last two years and Mark was always there with a smile and wind blown hair from his ride down in his convertible Porsche. I knew him since Sunset Elementary School and had the pleasure of recently meeting Zach, I believe. I am deeply saddened for your  loss and I have tears as I write this. I believe I know Mark well enough to say that he wants you all to remember the good times and to do your best going forward.

Mark and I shared an office for the last year, and over that time I came to know a brilliant Engineer, Manager, and more importantly - one of those most special and very sweet people that few of us are ever lucky enough to meet...

That rare type of individual who truly lived to make the world a better place and our lives that much richer for knowing him.

I witnessed how he immediately touched everyone that came to know him - Contractors, Municipalities, DOT staff, Consultants, Stakeholders, Citizens.  The Flagler Memorial Bridge Replacement Project cannot possibly be as successful and enjoyable to build without Mark's guidance and presence. The remaining Project Team will nevertheless endeavor to do our very best, along the way imagining how Mark would handle obstacles and acting accordingly in his spirit.

My life was so blessed by his camaraderie and friendship.  Having come to know his lovely wife Sheri and having only recently met his wonderful son Sean, I was and am reminded how wonderful people naturally have the most beautiful families.

Dear Sheri, Zach, and Sean, in all the years that I new Mark, I cannot recall a time when he did not have a smile on his face. I am terribly sorry for your loss. When I found out I just remember saying out loud " But he was one of the good guys". That will always be how I remember Ziggy.
