Sheila Thompson left this world to be with her Lord in heaven on January 11, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in 1932 to Cecil and Edna Bridge. At the tender age of 18 she left England and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to marry the “love of her life”, Geoffrey Gill. Together, Geoffrey and Sheila had four children. She was predeceased by Geoffrey in 1982.
Sheila met and married the second “love of her life”, John Thompson in 1985. John and Sheila met while pursuing one of their shared interests, ballroom dancing an activity they continued to enjoy throughout their marriage. They loved travel and had many fantastic cruises and trips abroad. Sheila often said how lucky she was to have found two great “loves of her life”.
She leaves behind her husband, John Thompson, son, Keith Gill and wife Carolyn, daughter, Diane Hunsaker and husband, Allen, a daughter, Nancy Stewart and husband, David, and a son, David Gill as well as grandchildren, Cynthia Harnois, Donald Stewart (deceased) and Angela Wright along with three great grandchildren, Hailey, Kaydence and Adeleigh.
Sheila will be remembered as an amazing, giving woman, a devoted wife and mother and being blessed with a most sincere soul. Sheila will be missed by all and this quote is one that best describes Sheila “You don’t see me, but I️ am here. By your side forever I️ will always be, the gentle breeze in the air”.
