Daniel Vernon Palmer age 91 of Marietta died Tuesday January 3, 2017 He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Palmer. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday January 6, 2017 in the Jonquil Chapel of Castellaw Funeral Home, Smyrna's First with Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends 2-4pm and 6-8 pm Thursday in the Magnolia Room of Castellaw Funeral Home. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Haygood and her husband Johnny Haygood , his son , Mark Palmer, his sisters, Emma Knowles and Verdie Mae Sommerville. grandson , Mark Palmer, Jr., great grandchildren , Victoria Palmer and Anthony Palmer. Several nieces and nephews. He was member of Spring Street Baptist Church and a retired supervisor with Lockheed. He was a member of the American Legion Post 160 Smyrna and a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Melvin - DD 680 and a member of the MERCILESS MELVIN CLUB.
