

Glenda McMichen Wingate, 81, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2025. Born on July 13, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, Glenda lived a life defined by devotion, strength, and selfless love for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Geneva McMichen, and her sister, Patricia Nelson.
Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Larry Wingate; her children, Chad Wingate, Seth Wingate, and Laura Evatt; and her cherished granddaughters, Emily Wingate, Katie Wingate, Ivy Evatt, Halle Evatt, and Ava Evatt.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Glenda’s family was the center of her world. She was a retired elementary school teacher who found deep joy and purpose in helping children learn to read—work that reflected her patience, compassion, and belief in every child’s potential. Hard-working and deeply committed, she approached both her career and her family with dedication and care.
Glenda was incredibly selfless, strong, and tough as nails. She was a good listener and a natural problem solver—someone others turned to for steady guidance, thoughtful advice, and quiet support. She faced life with resilience and determination, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the family she adored, and the love she gave so freely.
