Katie G. Freeman

Katie Gilbert Freeman, age 90 of Marietta, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. Private burial will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman was born in Gadsden, Alabama and has lived in Marietta since 1954. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a loving mother, Maw Maw and “another” to all her family. Her favorite things were feeding her birds, her mornings with Jesus and giving hugs. Mrs. Freeman had “more friends than you can count”.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband Doyce Willard Freeman. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Vicky F. and Harold Stokes and Kathy F. and Charlie Smith of Marietta; sisters Dora Reese and Cora Paquette of Foley, Alabama; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5 from 6 to 8 PM at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta.
