Robert W. Sauer

A visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Marietta Alliance Church, 1787 East Piedmont Road. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Pastor David S. Hayes will officiate all services.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Stephen and Elizabeth Sauer as well as his sister, Lillian Oprian of Akron, Ohio and brother, Ralph Sauer. Bob spent his younger years in Akron, Rittman, and Doylestown, Ohio. He graduated from Kent State University in 1956 with a major in economics and business management. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber for 11 years and Exxon Mobile Chemical as a sales executive for 28 years. Since retirement, he has kept busy managing personal investments and serving his church in various capacities. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Marie Sauer ; sons, Robert Stephen, Mark Warren, and Eric Matthew Sauer and his wife, Rita of Powder Springs; sister, Marge Dustin of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Jake Sauer, Ryder Sauer, Marlie Sauer, Cara and Jesse Yarbrough and Mary and Trip Mitchell; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
