Alice Waid Robertson

Center, Martinsville, VA. She was born in Moneta, VA to the late

Lewis A. Waid and Mary Julia Burroughs Waid. In addition to her

parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert R.

Robertson, a son, G.W.”Shrimp” Robertson, a grandson, Gregory C.

Secrest, a son-in-law, Kenneth C. Secrest and by four brothers,

Frank, Archer, Reese and Hope Waid.

She was a faithful member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church

serving in the nursery for many years until failing health limited

her activities. She was a member of the Women’s Mission Circle and

the Young at Heart senior group.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Iva R.

Arrington(W.C.) of Ridgeway, Jeanette R. Secrest of Martinsville

and Carolyn R. Prillaman(Doug) of Bassett and a daughter-in-law

Kitty Lou Robertson of Bassett; six grandchildren

Cheryl S. Rigney(Mike),Julie A. Waddell(Mark), Dwayne Robertson(Kim)

Keith Robertson(Rana), Stephanie P. Cooley(Johnny)and Stacie P.

Hollandsworth. Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren

Jackson and Carson Rigney, Corey and Kasey Waddell, Stephanie Lewis,

Eryn Secrest, Lauren Hinsen, Tyler and Blake Secrest, Taylor and

Tori Robertson, Garrett Robertson, Justin and Colby Cooley and three

great-great grandchildren Skyelah and Gage Hinsen and Charlee Ruth

Lewis. Four sisters, Mary Hardt of Ocean Springs, MS; Frances

McBride of Eden,NC; Sally Thompson of Bedford, VA and Maxine Cheek

of Lynchburg, VA and one brother Cecil Waid of Salem.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Aug 4, 2014 at

1:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with Dr. G. H. Vaughn and

Rev. Lewis Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.

to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of

Jeanette Secrest, 166 Quail Oaks Road, Martinsville.
