

Anna Lee Lewis Eden, 61, of Martinsville died May 29, 2014 at her home after a short battle with amyloidosis. Lee was born in Lynchburg, VA on July 19, 1952 to William Eugene and Mary Frank Lewis. She was raised in Danville and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater. Lee went on to become a teacher, acquiring her masters and other certifications. She is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Alex Clark Eden, Sr. Lee and Clark spent 16 years in Memphis, TN and moved to Martinsville in 1992. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church and worked for Henry County Schools for 22 years. She was a long-time volunteer with the Open Arms Class at First United Methodist Church and the American Red Cross Board. She also enjoyed working with the Black Box Theater and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is survived by her parents; her four children, Alex Eden and his wife Lauren, Jana Jennings and her husband Ryan, Jamie Peck and her husband Jared, and Jennifer Eden; her sisters, Donna Wisian and her husband Ray, Jeanne Hoepner, and Lynn Brooks; her brother-in-law Scott Eden and his wife Jan Bird; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, the local American Red Cross, the Black Box Theater, or the Greater Virginia Make-A-Wish foundation.
