

Annie Hope Smith Scott, 88, of Horsepasture-Price Road in Ridgeway, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born in Henry County on May 2, 1922 to Pinkney Watt Smith and Nannie Kate Overton Smith. She was a graduate of Ridgeway High School and retired from American Furniture Company. She was a long-time member of Smith Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hosie Willard Scott; two sons, Tommy Willard Scott and an infant son; two sisters, Verlie Clifton and Mary Scott and one brother, Howard Smith.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois S. Comer and her husband Tony of Ridgeway and Wanda B. Jessup and her husband Mike of Martinsville; two sisters, Ethel Ward and Marie Hall, both of Martinsville; five grandchildren, Clinton Barrow, Deanna Scott Sturtz, Dean Comer, Darryl Scott and Brett Barrow; three great-grandchildren, Jakob Comer, Charlie Comer and Dory Sturtz.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Smith Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Barry Crumpton officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service (1:00 to 2:00 PM) at the church and other times at the home of Lois and Tony Comer, 3840 Horsepasture Price Road in Ridgeway.
