Beverly Gae Purcell Saville

Mrs. Beverly Gae Purcell Saville, 91, of Martinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She was born in the Stella community of Patrick County, Virginia, August 25, 1924 to the late George Everette and Lucy Campbell Purcell. She was married to Robert Edwin Saville, who preceded her in death December 21, 1983. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers; Beady Purcell, Ida P. Boaz, Pansy P. Grady, Florence P. Ore, Eva P. Beck, Louise P. Carver, Claudia P. Young, L. Herman, F. Burton, and D. Worley Purcell.

Mrs. Saville was graduated from Hardin Reynolds Memorial School and Gassaway Business School. She worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper for many years.

Mrs. Saville was a member of Broad Street Christian Church, where she was active in the Heart in Hand Ministry and Christian Women’s Fellowship.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law; Merilyn and Ernest Bremner of Martinsville, Vicki and Keith Bardsley of Charlotte, North Carolina, grandsons and their wives; Eric and Amanda Bremner, Zachary and Courtney Bremner, great grandchildren; Jonah, Cora, Sophia, Owen, and Henry Bremner, all of Christiansburg, Virginia, step grandchildren; Janice Moore and husband, Toni, and David Bardsley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Craig Bardsley and wife Ashley of Wilmington, North Carolina; step-great grandchildren; Emily and Sarah Moore of Charlotte, Cole and Ruby Rose Bardsley of Wilmington, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Saville also leaves her wonderful caretakers at Blue Ridge Manor and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at McKee – Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad St., Martinsville, VA. with the Reverend John Fulcher officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
