Buddie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Louise Rogers; son, Michael Ray Rogers and his wife Christy of Walnut Cove, N.C., grandson; Justin, granddaughter; Nicole, sister; Sherleen Payne, brother; James and his wife Tempie, also numerous nieces and nephews.
He retired from NCR. At the time of his death, he had worked for Lowes Building Supply for 22 years. Buddie loved car racing and go-cart racing. He won many trophies and awards from his go-cart racing career. He loved his dogs, Cricket, Lexie, and Punkie.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church and will be officiated by Reverend Michael Jordon and Reverend Tracy Freeman. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Buddie to the Martinsville Henry County SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.
