Dale is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa Harmon Garvin; daughters, Angela Troxell and Dorothy Gilbert; grandchildren, Jonathan Townsend, Katharine Troxell and Zoe Bell; 2 Great Grandchildren; sisters-in-law Jean Moore Garvin and Sybil Harmon; brother-in-law John D. Harmon and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Vernon B. Garvin III.
Dale had a master’s degree in Math and worked as a purchasing agent for Dan River Mills in their Corporate Office. He was an avid reader, who loved trout fishing and wood working.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
