

He was born in Ridgeway, VA, on October 25, 1935, to the late O. G. Hardy and Mary Warren Hardy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Henry Rogers Hardy, Jr., and one sister, Mary Hardy Young.
Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife Mary Ann Bell Hardy, Spencer, VA, one son, Ronald Allen Hardy, Ridgeway, two daughters, Deborah Hardy Beauchamp, Ocala, Florida, and Shirley Hardy Lakosky, Flaglar Beach, Florida three grandchildren, Casey Lakosky, Tonya Mehan, and Amber Hardy. He had several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, William Rucker Hardy, Ridgeway, two sisters, Louise Hardy Lackey, Collinsville, and Carol Hardy Burton of Murrells Inlet, SC.
Mr. Hardy graduated from Ridgeway High School, and retired from Fieldcrest Mills in Fieldale, VA with 45 years of service. He was a loom fixer for the majority of the time. He was also a part-time farmer on his farm in Ridgeway. Mr. Hardy also served in the Army and in the Army National Guards for several years.
The family wants to give special thanks to Ronald Hardy (Henry’s son) for his compassionate and respectful care during his final days.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Minister Tim Wood officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 on Wednesday prior to the funeral service and other times at Henry’s home 2734 Eggleston Falls Road in Ridgeway.
