John David Plum Jr.

John David Plum, Jr., 77, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born in Page County, Virginia, July 12, 1936 to John David and Gladys May Plum, both deceased.

After graduating from Shenandoah High School he enlisted in the Navy. He was employed by Xerox Company for 20 years and retired from International Paper Company. John was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene D. Plum.

He is survived by one son, John David, Plum, III and wife Frances of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one brother, Kenneth Plum of Reston, Virginia; one step-granddaughter, Sara Fuqua of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and his devoted companion, Louise R. Smith of Martinsville.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service.

Mr. Plum had requested an Anatomical Bequeathal.
