In addition to his parents, Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Hamilton Shoemaker.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Johnson Shoemaker; a daughter, Ida S. Lewis and husband, Charles; three step-children, Robby Kerrick (Joyce), Katrina Sullivan and Christopher Kerrick; one granddaughter, Heather Swanson; two great-granddaughters, Hayleigh Swanson and Quinn Perdue; two step-grandchildren, Jacob Kerrick and Armand Garrand; two brothers, Raymond and Charles (Carolyn) Shoemaker; and one sister, Carrie Milam.
Mr. Shoemaker was the owner and operator of Chatmoss Cablevision for 40 years and was of the Baptist faith.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville. A Graveside Service will follow at Henry Memorial Park at 11 AM Tuesday, with the Rev. Dr. Mike Hatfield officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 603 Memorial Blvd. S, Martinsville, VA 24112.
