Mattie Crews Belt

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Elmer Crews, Sr.; second husband, Thomas Henry Belt; daughters Alma Crews Showalter and Texas Crews Young; son Roy Elmer Crews, Jr.; grandson Mark Young and great grandson David Sperling.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kim Y. Sperling (Mitch), Jeff Crews (Jerri), Lee Crews and B.W. Showalter (Bailey); great grandchildren, Zach Crews (Katherine), Kaitlyn S. Chandler (Daniel), Ryan Sperling (Patty), Casey C. Koger (David), Brett Showalter (Blake), Sarabeth Crews and Madison Powell; four great great-grandchildren.

Mattie was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church. She worked 42 1/2 years as a machine operator for Pannill Knitting Company. She loved spending time with her family, sewing and quilting. She also loved to travel and was proud that she had visited 48 states twice.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Michael Hatfield. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
