Nancy Thomas Hooker

Nancy Jean Thomas Hooker, 86, of Martinsville, Va. passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. She was born October 22, 1934 in Fincastle, Va. to Posey Thomas and Mary Roatenbury Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband A.M. Hooker. Mrs. Hooker is survived by her daughter, Deborah H. Smith (Curtis); son, Michael S. Hooker (Patsy); grandchildren, Leslie S. Wood (Chris), Allen M. Smith (Martha), Lauren M. Hooker and Peyton T. Hooker; great grandchildren, Roslynn, Grayson and Lily; sister, Betty June Morris; brothers, Ray, Roy and Robert “Bobby” Thomas. Mrs. Hooker was a homemaker for many years and later became a real estate broker and an agent in Danville, Va. She was very artistic and loved painting in oils and acrylics. She loved teaching others how to paint. She also quilted in her spare time. She was a member of Chatham Heights United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church at 1817 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville, VA 24112. Due to COVID a private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Burial Park and will be officiated by Reverend Tim Gearheart.
