Nelson Wayne Priddy

Nelson Wayne Priddy, 80, of Martinsville, VA, quietly and peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 26, 2019, at his home. He was born in Danbury, NC on October 31, 1938 to Paul Jones Priddy and Rachel Lou Nelson Priddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; an infant great granddaughter, Keira Crawford; three brothers, Norman Priddy, Carl Jones Priddy, and James Ronnie Priddy. He is survived by his wife, Frances Mullins Priddy of the home; three daughters, Jessica Rea (David) of Ridgeway, Renee Custer of Martinsville, and Marianne Spencer (Justin) of Bassett; five grandchildren, Amber Cochran, Courtney Crawford (Jamie), Scout Custer, Hailey Spencer, and Jacob Spencer; four great-grandchildren, Micah Pinnix, Cayden Cochran, Kiya Crawford and Khalyl Crawford; one sister, Barbara Hodnett (Phillip) and several nieces and nephews. Wayne attended Spring Street Baptist Church in Martinsville and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran. He was retired from Century Link Telephone Co. as a technician for 38 years. After retiring, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and golfing. The family will receive friends, Monday, April 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mckee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at McKee-Stone with interment to follow at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett.
