Ralph Woodrow Pyles

on April 20, 1916 to Algernon Thomas and Rosa DeVore Pyles. He retired from Gravely Furniture Company in Martinsville after 41 years of service where he was Secretary/Treasurer and also a member of the Board of Directors. He had been a member of First United Methodist Church for over 70 years where he was also a member of the Read-Robins Sunday School Class. He was a member of Martinsville Rotary Club for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Watts Pyles in December of 2001.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, R. Thomas and Elinor J. Pyles of Midlothian, VA, Robert B. and Linda W. Pyles of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Anne Pyles Pryor and husband Ernie of Richmond, John Pyles and Laura Pyles, both of Seattle, WA.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Mateer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
