Robert Bledsoe

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James W. Bledsoe, Jr.; and two step-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances Holland Bledsoe; sons, Robert L. Bledsoe Jr. and wife Jerrie of Albany, GA. and William B. Bledsoe and wife Stephanie of Winston-Salem N.C.; step-daughter Donna Curry LaPrad of Martinsville; step-son Richard Curry, Jr. of Ridgeway; one granddaughter, Elizabeth W. Bledsoe; seven step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bledsoe graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He was employed with Dupont and retired as Senior Research Engineer with 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsville.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. Interment will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at McKee Stone Chapel.
