In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Amos Joyce; daughter, Wanda Sue Joyce; sisters, Polly Winn and Eva Joyce.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon J. Rakes; sons, Tommy, Steve, Danny and Michael Joyce; sisters, Mildred Pace and Marie Hendricks; grandchildren, Kenzie Rakes, Troy Lee Rakes II, Tara Joyce, Daniel Joyce, and Holly Joyce Kaiser;
great-grandchildren, Nicholas Joyce and Nathan J. Wingfield.
The family will receive friends during a celebration of life event held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 10, 2016 at the home of Mr. Joyce’s son, Steve Joyce, located at 1760 Spencer Preston Road, Martinsville, Va.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Street Baptist Church, 200 Spring Street, Martinsville Va. 24112.
