He is survived by his wife, Ruth Witt Sater; daughters, Lia Sater and Larren Hopkins (Joseph); grandchildren, Annorah and Zev, and Tyler, Caleb and Kristen Hopkins; sisters, Carolyn Kanoy from Winston Salem, Marsha Basinger from Leland, N.C. and brother Hyman Sater from Danville.
Bill loved playing classical acoustic guitar, watching UVA sports and doing yardwork. He was a 1969 graduate of Martinsville High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Virginia.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ohev Zion Cemetery and will be officiated by Rabbi Nadav Avital.
