Age 95, died February 20, 2012 in Charlotte, Michigan. He was born on August 10, 1916 to Alexander and Palahia (Uschuk) Boyko. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Hale) Boyko in 2006. Alex is survived by two sons, David (Nancy) Boyko, Tucson, AZ, Steven (Lila) Boyko, Mason, MI, 4 grandchildren Mary (Keven) Isley, Andrew Boyko, Angela (Derrik) Nettleman, Ian (Ericka Bachman), 3 great grandchildren Rylie, Max, Willow, one brother John (Bertha) Boyko and one sister Jenny Kenyon, both of Grand Rapids, MI. Graveside services will be held on February 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery, with Military honors. Alex Boyko’s life was a full 95½ years. His love of the family unit was paramount. After his military service in World War II his beloved wife Jeanne, flying, the Boston Red Sox, Michigan State Spartans, grandchildren, great grandchildren and home were the sustaining joys of life. It is hard to imagine life without Alex Boyko. The surviving will miss him immeasurably.
