Cathy A. Moore

Mason, Michigan

Age 67, died July 6, 2015; born May 29, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan. Cathy loved casinos, flower gardening, her pets, antiquing, painting, ceramics and wood carving. She was a Tribal Elder in the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Preceding her in death were her parents, Theron and Maisie Downey, and grandparents. Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband, Harold Moore; children, Brian (Jenifer) Moore, Ted (Amy) Moore, Heather (Jammy) Place; grandchildren, Jett and Harley Moore, Kelcy, Cooper and Colin Moore.

Adopted as a child, she found her birth family in the mid 1980’s and her family grew to include 17 half-brothers and sisters from the LaTour and Baker families. A Traditional Native American Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan with interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
