Dorothy Irene Ferris

Dorothy I. Ferris, age 86, died May 24, 2012. She was born September 12, 1925 in DeWitt, MI to Ralph W. and Flossie M. (Howard) Furtney. Dorothy was a graduate of County Normal Teachers College and served as Mason Middle School Librarian. She was a world traveler, active in the Mason Historical Society and First United Methodist Church. She touched the lives of many people.

Surviving are her husband Richard; daughter, Elaine Ferris; 3 sons, Dewayne (Kaye) Ferris, Gary (Linda) Ferris and David (Suzanne) Ferris; 9 grandchildren, Jessica, Timothy, Lesley, Heather, Stephanie, Kenneth, Raylene, Patrick, Jolynn; 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Madison, Katelyn and Zoe.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Mason, 201 E. Ash Street, Mason, MI with the Rev. Dwayne Bagley officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 9-11:00 a.m.
