Joyce Elaine (Yeoman) Hills 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26, 2022 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital surrounded by her family. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Junior of 65 years and is now reunited with him. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, February 22, 1936 and attended Holt High School (Class of 1955).
Joyce loved her family, her neighbors, and spending time with them. She enjoyed going to and watching sporting events, especially that of her children & grandchildren. She also loved going to the casino, spending the winters in Florida, and traveling during retirement. Joyce was a talented crafter, a wonderful cook, and an amazing quilter. She was the ultimate Mom and Grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters Julie (Larry) Wing, Jill Day & Jodi (Tim) Somerville. Grandchildren Jason (Kris) Wing, Josh (Ashley) Wing, Justin (Ashley) Day, Jakob (Maddison) Somerville, and Emily Somerville. Great Grandchildren Avery, Keaton, Alyssa, Alexa, Emmaline, Dalton & Camden. Brother-in-law Bob (Pat) Hills and sister-in-law Darlene Hills.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Maxine Yeoman, In-laws Harold & Lena Hills, brother-in-laws Doug (Mary), James, Dennis, sister-in-law Lorna Hanley, brother and sister-in-law John (Janice) Yeoman and sister Janet Yeoman.
A special thanks to Green Acres of Mason for your love and care over the past year and a huge thank you to the amazing staff. We would also like to thank the staff at McLaren Greater Lansing for their help and care over the past few days. Special thanks to ICU nurse Carrie!
A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Ball Dunn Chapel 621 S. Jefferson St. Mason, MI 48854. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior and Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Ball Dunn Chapel. Interment to follow at Hawley Cemetery.
