June Ann Stubbert

Mom was born June 12, 1924, in Battle Creek, Mi to Chester and Elizabeth Bowden; died August 15, 2013. She was second eldest in a family six children. Mom graduated from Battle Creek Central died August 15, 2013. She was employed at Percy Jones Hospital PX where she met our dad, James (Jim) Stubbert. They married October 6, 1946, and built their life together in Mason, MI. Mom worked as a bookkeeper at Ware’s Pharmacy and retired in 1971. After dad retired they moved to Gulliver Lake just outside of Manistique, MI and became part of the Methodist Church family there. In 2006, Mom moved back to Mason to be closer to her girls, family and old Mason friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 53 years, James Stubbert, her parents Chester and Elizabeth Bowden, sisters Doris Garfield and Marilyn Gates, and son-in-law Dale Parish. She is survived by daughters Sherry (Gary) Morgan and Jacqueline Parish; 5 grandchildren, Kelly (Paul) Heslip, Kerry (Joel) Rabideau, Matthew (Sarah) Morgan, Emily (Mandy) Emersen (Maggie Rich) and James Parish; 14 great-grandchildren Morgan Lynne, Patrick, Christopher and Aaron Heslip, Luke, Megan, Caleb, Joshua, Katelynn, Daniel and Zachary Rabideau, Claire Delaney Morgan, Bradley (Marissa Hawn) Hawn and Jacob Parish; and brother Donald (Ardelle) Bowden; sisters Mertice Smith and Judith (Ron) Kuhn; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family wishes to thank all of the staff at Dimondale Nursing Care Center especially Ruby, Debbie and Lynette. Special thanks and gratitude to Aubrey, Lynn and Laura of Hospice Advantage.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI on Tuesday, August 20th with visitation at 1:00pm.
