On June 26th, 2016 the world lost a light of love and acceptance due to complications from a serious medical condition, depression. Still Larry was a man of character who embodied kindness and humility. He was an amazing husband, phenomenal father, beloved son, grandfather and brother. Dad encompassed a special kind of wisdom, he was the first to admit he didn't have all the answers, but always equipped us with the tools necessary to work through anything with integrity and grace. Larry was a master gardener employed by Michigan State University; he took pride in his work and always wanted to deliver an outstanding Spartan experience. Dad gave his all in many aspects of life from working on our cars, updating his 'nest', building a pole barn, gardening at home, besides being a great listener, offering reassurance, caring, praying, understanding, giving great advice, and so much more. Left behind to cherish his memory is his soul mate, Jill Bell; children, Daniel Bell, Elizabeth Bell, Julie Betterly, Jolene Betterly, Jessica Doyle (Katie); granddaughter, Savannah; parents, Karen and Larry Bell; brother, Jeffrey (Nancy); mother-in-law, Fran Dunford; brother-in-law, Greg Nicholson; and special friends, Aaron Torok and Michael George; his fellers, Murphy and Moses; and many aunts uncles and cousins. Preceded in rest by brother, John Bell; stepson, John Betterly; and beloved pet, Mr. Fluffy. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Millville United Methodist Church, 1932 N. M-52, Stockbridge, MI 49285 with Pastor Jackie Raineri officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Beloved you mean so much to us. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." Dr. Seuss.
